• FLP will assign you a boat number. (Out of towners ~ this will allow you entry into Sears Park)

• Nikki O’Neill will create a book for the judges. She has taken an oath and is sworn to secrecy with regards to all themes.

Information

• Date: Saturday, August 14, 2010

• Rain date: Sunday, August 15, 2010

• Start Time: 2:00 p.m.

• Should the weather be questionable, we ask that you call West

Shore Marina at (860) 267-1764 after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 13, 2010. A message will indicate the status of the Parade.

• Starting location: In front of Angelico’s Lakehouse

• Finish at Angelico’s Lakehouse where winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded.

Rules and Regulations

• Your boat sign has to be visible to the judges--preferably on the front of the boat.

• All boats will remain in ONE single file line.

• Please refrain from passing other boats in the parade.

• The Parade will follow the West Marine Tug Boat.

• The parade will follow the ENTIRE perimeter of Lake Pocotopaug.

• The parade will travel clockwise around the Lake.

• There will be 4 checkpoints for judging ALL motorized boats marked with large YELLOW FLAGS (see attached map).

• Many lake residents will be observing from various locations. We would like to provide ALL observers with the best view possible of the parade.

• There will be Parade Marshals located along the perimeter of the lake. Please be sure to go in between the Marshals and the perimeter of the lake.

• When you get to the reviewing stand (note map) the boats should make an attempt to turn around so the judges can see all sides of the boat. In order to do so, leave space between boats.

Criteria for Judging

• General Effect in Presentation: (25%) The overall effective presentation of the boat. Its presentation as it appears on the parade route. Beauty & creativity.

• Workmanship: (25%) The craftsmanship in the boat creation. Detail in design and creation of boat.

• Originality: (25%) The creativeness and originality of the boat theme and design.

• Environmental Awareness: (25%) The awareness and capability to use recycled and environmentally friendly materials.

*Once again, there is a kids’ category!!! Prizes will be awarded to the BEST boat created by kids!!!
